“Life, Liberty, and Estate: The Exploitation of Labor in the Lockean Social Contract”
Faculty Advisor: Tyler Zimmer
Molly Portwood’s thesis examines John Locke’s social contract theory and asks about its implications around racial and gendered hierarchies through a close reading of the text and argues that sexism and racism in Locke’s theories should not be brushed aside as is often the case.
