What Can an Anorexic Body Do? An Examination of Becoming-Anorexic

Drawing on the philosophies of immanence and becoming advanced by Felix Guattari and Gilles Deleuze, Rebeka critically interrogates the ways that feminists have thought about anorexia. She advances a novel approach to understanding anorexia: as an embodied gendered phenomenon that neither pathologizes it, nor plays down its inextricable ties to patriarchal norms of bodily comportment placed on women in contemporary societies.
