Cristian’s thesis is a close reading of Dennis Cooper’s novel, The Sluts, through the lens of queer theory. His three-part essay argues that The Sluts inflicts violence on subjective, social, and literary form (i.e., the novel), rendering each incoherent. Cristian writes that Cooper inaugurates a "suicidal public" in his prose, a form of sociality which aims to destroy the object around which it has formed and through which it has been sustained.
